Brandel Chamblee shares strong opinion about what will happen with Scottie Scheffler at the US Open

Scottie Scheffler will attempt to complete the career Grand Slam at Shinnecock Hills in June, when the US Open rolls into town on Long Island.
Scheffler has endured somewhat of a challenging season by his standards, although he does still have a win and seven top-5s to his name in 11 starts, including three runner-up finishes.

However, something is clearly not quite right with the 29-year-old world number one.
During the first two months of the season, Scottie Scheffler struggled with his driving and iron play and now he is having problems with putts from inside five feet.

Scheffler simply hasn’t looked entirely comfortable on the golf course in 2026, but it’s fair to say that nobody would be shocked if he went on a run now where he picks off a few wins in his next five starts.
With the US Open just three weeks away now, the Dallas native will be highly focused on becoming only the seventh man in the history of the game to complete the career Grand Slam.

Brandel Chamblee is one of the best, most controversial and straight talking analysts in the game.
Chamblee was speaking about Scheffler’s golf game on the Favorite Chamblee Podcast.
And the straight-shooting golf analyst made a prediction about what he thinks will happen at the US Open next month.
“You know, Scottie’s 29. He’s won 20 times already, and four major championships,“ Chamblee said.
“And he’ll, you know, very likely, at least in my book, complete the career Grand Slam at Shinnecock in a few weeks. If not him, who else?
“Scottie in 2025 would beat the hell out of Scottie in 2026, but you’ve still got to pick him.

“The short putting still is an issue. So we’ll see.“
While Scheffler definitely hasn’t been on his best form so far in 2026, it’s hard to disagree with Chamblee’s comments.

Looking at Scheffler’s stats in 2026, his entire golf game is clearly in fine working order.
He’s ranked 4th in strokes gained off the tee and 15th in strokes gained approach.
Scheffler is ranked 15th in strokes gained putting, 3rd in strokes gained around the green and 2nd in strokes gained scrambling.
Overall, the 29-year-old is ranked 1st in strokes gained total, having gained 2.221 strokes on the field in every single round he has played this season.
‘If anyone else had posted those kinds of numbers, we would all be talking about just how good a season it has been for them.
This is Scottie Scheffler we’re talking about, though. This is a man who has a 25% win percentage over the past four years.
Since February 2022, he has won once in every four times he has teed it up, and that is truly remarkable given the sheer strength of the competition these days.
If Scottie Scheffler manages to make some marginal gains with regards to his game over the next couple of weeks or so, he could easily win the US Open at Shinnecock Hills.
It might not be too long before he begins to dominate once again.
