The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the more intriguing rosters in the NFL when everybody is healthy, though that's been a massive concern for the organization over the past few years.
On the defensive side of the football, the Bengals haven't exactly been strong in that avenue, either, which has led to many questions about what the future of this team looks like.
After losing Trey Hendrickson, though he wasn't exactly as good as he once was, despite some fans being upset about losing him, there's definitely a need for another player on the defensive side of the football.
The question now is whether the Bengals are willing to move the necessary draft capital to land another very good player after making a move for Dexter Lawrence.
According to Bleacher Report, there's a possibility they could be interested in Josh Sweat, though a team like the Dallas Cowboys might also be in the mix.
“Since the Bengals are willing to attack the 2026 season aggressively, they should also take a long look at Sweat if he becomes available. Cincinnati did sign Boye Mafe in free agency, but it also lost Hendrickson to the rival Ravens…
“While Gary, Houston, and the rookies may make for a functional edge rotation, the Cowboys shouldn't leave anything to chance. With an offense that ranked second overall in 2025, they're poised to make a run now, but their opportunities could be dwindling,” Kristopher Knox of BR wrote.
Because of the addition of Lawrence, I'm not sure the Bengals have to go out and get a player like Sweat unless it's a deal that they absolutely can't refuse. If Sweat were to go for something like a third or fourth-round pick, I do think the Bengals should get in the mix just to add another player who can make an impact for them.
However, it seems the Cowboys need him a lot more, so that's something to keep in mind.
