The 22-episode drama, based on Zimbabwean author Sue Nyathi’s 2012 novel of the same name, premiered globally on Netflix on 12 June.
In a video shared on Instagram, Lebo M said he had watched the final two episodes several times and praised the people behind the production.
“I watched the last two episodes. I think I watched them four times. First, congratulations to the production, the amazing talent behind this project. I need to breathe a little bit more. I guess this is content into the future,” he said.
But Lebo M said he believed the show needed a different title.
“I’m not sure if the title Polygamist is appropriate. Yeah, it needed a different title. Straight to the point…
“But the truth is, there are Jonases out there. Globally. There are men and female Jonases,” he said.
