PowerBall Xtra jackpot has been WON: THREE players share R139 million

Sizekhaya, the new operators of the national lottery in South Africa, have confirmed that the estimated R139 million PowerBall Xtra jackpot on Tuesday evening was shared by three lucky players.

As reported by The South African website, Sizekhaya confirmed prior to the draw that there would be a guaranteed winner – or winners – even if all five numbers and the bonus ball were not picked by anyone.
In the event that took place, the jackpot would then cascade down to division two where anyone who picked the five correct numbers – without the bonus ball – would walk away the winner.
And that’s exactly what transpired as three players are each R45 733 457.30 richer this morning.
The numbers drawn were 8, 14, 16, 25, and 44.
Meanwhile, the bonus ball was 15.
The identity of the winner has not yet been revealed as at the time of publishing.
No PowerBall winners
Meanwhile, the were no winners of the PowerBall jackpot.
The PowerBall numbers drawn were 21, 26, 40, 42 and 44 with the bonus ball being 15.
Following the latest win, the PowerBall jackpots have now been reset for the next draw, scheduled for Friday, 3 July at 21:00 on e.tv and SABC.
The PowerBall jackpot now stands at an estimated R72 million, with the PowerBall Xtra jackpot at an estimated R2.5 million.
