Best No. 68 in Steelers history: DE L.C. Greenwood
We've hit another historic number in the Steelers' countdown to kickoff: the greatest all-time wearer of No. 68 is L.C. Greenwood.
Greenwood, selected by Pittsburgh with the 238th overall pick in the 10th round of the 1969 NFL Draft, was a pivotal member of the legendary Steel Curtain defense that won four Super Bowls.
Playing with the Steelers from 1969 to 1981, Greenwood recorded 78 unofficial sacks and was named First-team All-Pro twice, earned six Pro Bowl selections, and was selected to the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team, the Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team, the Steelers Hall of Honor, and the Pittsburgh Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Greenwood is one of the greatest Steelers defenders ever and deserves every bit of recognition as the best wearer of No. 68 in Pittsburgh.
