The game Wednesday night between the Harwich Mariners and Brewster Whitecaps served as the only one on the docket where both came in with winning records.

Brewster emerged with an 8-0 victory over the Mariners.

The Whitecaps improved to 13-6-1 with the win, while the Mariners dropped to 13-7.

The Whitecaps pitched well throughout. Four hurlers combined on the shutout. Santiago Garcia (Louisiana State), Jordan Martin (Arkansas), James DeCremer (Arkansas) and Jordan Regulski (Duke) threw for Brewster. They allowed just five hits, no runs and four walks. They struck out seven batters, including three for Garcia.

Brewster's Dane Harvey (Ohio State) blasted a solo home run to right field, his third of the season, in the bottom of the second inning. Later in the inning, Jacob Lee (Virginia Commonwealth) scored on a fielder's choice.

The Whitecaps added to their lead in the fifth inning. Holden Pantier (Walters State CC) doubled to right field to bring home two more runs.

Edward Yamin IV (Louisiana State) doubled to left field to bring in another run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Jamie Laskofski (William & Mary) doubled to right field to score another run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Laskofski and Pantier then scored on an outfield error to increase the lead to 8-0.

JD Peltier (Wright State) was the only Harwich player with two hits.

In other Cape Cod Baseball League action:

Cotuit Kettleers 8, Falmouth Commodores 2

The Kettleers (6-12-2) led most of the way and kept the Commodores (8-11-1) off the board until the eighth inning.

Noah Coy (Notre Dame) and Isaac Sturgess (Michigan State) each went 2-for-4. Coy had two RBIs, while Sturgess had two runs scored and three RBIs.

Jonathan Adelmann (Bucknell), Kyle Kipp (Boston College), Dylan Wood (Georgia) and Tyler Brashear (Eckerd) pitched well for the Kettleers. Adelmann had six strikeouts.

The Kettleers scored first in the bottom of the fourth inning. Aiden Aguayo (UCLA) scored on a sacrifice fly. Sturgess then doubled to bring home two more runs. Coy added an RBI single to right field to give the Kettleers a 4-0 advantage.

Coy struck again in the bottom of the sixth inning, where he hit a line drive to left field to score another runner and push the Kettleers' lead to 5-0.

Sturgess had another run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning. Ryan Tyranski (Cincinnati) scored on a passed ball. Chase Kroberger (Alabama) brought in another run with a base hit.

Falmouth finally were on the board in the top of the eighth inning. Austin Mallee (Gateway CC) scored on a sacrifice fly. AJ Putty (Illinois) then had an RBI single.

Hyannis Harbor Hawks 1, Orleans Firebirds 0

Pitching was the name of the game for the Harbor Hawks (9-11) in their shutout over the Firebirds (6-14).

Brady St. Pierre (Southeastern Louisiana), Cohen Gomez (Stanford) and Brayden Sharp (Rice) combined for the shutout. Gomez (1-1) earned the win, while Sharp earned his first save of the summer. They only allowed two hits, three walks and no runs. Sharp had three strikeouts in two innings.

It was not until the bottom of the seventh inning that Hyannis scored the game's first run. Taylor Kirk (Fordham) had an RBI single to give the Harbor Hawks a 1-0 advantage and complete the scoring.

Bub Terrell (Auburn) and Corey Nunez (UC Santa Barbara) had the lone hits for Orleans.
