Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Malayalam film Khalifa was released on Thursday. The film took a decent start at the box office and earned Rs. 5.35 crore net in India. The movie has received mixed reviews from critics and the audience, so it was expected that it would show a drop on Friday.
According to Sacnilk, Khalifa, on its second day, earned Rs. 2.30 crore net in India, taking the total to Rs. 7.65 crore net. On Friday, the movie showed a drop of around 57 per cent. Meanwhile, the movie's domestic gross collection stands at Rs. 8.90 crore.

Khalifa has been doing well overseas. On its second day, the movie collected Rs. 4 crore gross internationally, taking the worldwide gross total to Rs. 19.90 crore.
Khalifa Budget
Khalifa is reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 45-50 crore. So, the movie clearly needs to show a jump at the box office on Saturday and Sunday to collect a decent amount during its first extended weekend.
Prithviraj's Recent Box Office
After L2: Empuraan, Prithviraj's films like Vilayath Buddha and I, Nobody failed to make a mark at the box office. The former earned Rs. 5.20 crore net in India, and the latter's lifetime collection was Rs. 8.71 net.

Prithviraj Sukumaran's Upcoming Movies
Prithviraj has some interesting projects lined up. He will be seen in Odiyan: The Age of Illusion, Varanasi (Telugu), and Daayra (Hindi). While Odiyan: The Age of Illusion doesn't have a release date, Daayra, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, is slated to hit the big screens on September 18, 2026.
Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, which also stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, is slated to release on April 7, 2027.
