Aston Villa FC have signed PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye (18), both clubs have announced. The two clubs reached an agreement worth €55m for the transfer of the Senegal international winger to Villa Park. Aston Villa fended off competition from RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool to sign Mbaye, who has signed a five-year deal with the Villans. Mbaye will wear the No. 19 with Aston Villa.
PSG Academy graduate Ibrahim Mbaye provided four assists and scored as many goals for Luis Enrique’s side in 42 games played in all competitions. PSG’s signings of Ferran Torres, Mika Godts and Maghnes Akliouche convinced Mbaye that he needed to leave PSG to acquire more playing time.
Mbaye has been allowed by PSG to undergo a medical with Villa on Saturday. The Senegalese international could reunite with his former side for Matchday 6 of the Champions League, when Aston Villa host PSG on December 8. He could make his Premier League debut on Saturday against Hull City.
