Which 5 LIV Golf players entered DP World Tour Q-School? (With updates)

After a year marked by controversy, cancellations and mounting questions about its future, LIV Golf's final event at The Club at Chatham Hills in Indianapolis saw 22-year-old Michael La Sasso capture what could prove to be the final event in the league's tenure.

Of course, that remains speculation for now. Reports and rumors regarding the league's long-term survival continue to circulate, but no official announcement has been made regarding LIV's future. What is no longer in question, however, is that the circuit faces a series of significant headwinds.
Financial concerns have become increasingly difficult to ignore. The league has spent much of the year navigating a changing business landscape while exploring ways to reinvent itself for the future. Plans for a leaner, restructured version of the circuit have been discussed, but uncertainty remains about how and when such a model could take shape.
But after the biggest victory of his life, La Sasso and four fellow LIV players are taking steps to secure another pathway in professional golf, entering the DP World Tour's Qualifying School in hopes of earning status on Europe’s top tour.
A few of the five will begin their DP World Tour Q School journey Sept. 8-11 at Seddiner See Golf and Country Club in Michendorf, Germany, one of 10 first-stage qualifying venues spread across Europe. But three are competing at Huddersfield Golf Club in England, where qualifying got underway Wednesday and concludes Saturday.
Here's a look at the list and where they stand:
Michael La Sasso (starts qualifying on Sept. 8)
What an odd space to be in for La Sasso, who at 22 already has a huge college title and a huge professional win under his belt, yet isn't certain where he'll be playing next season.
In January, La Sasso was arguably the biggest offseason signing for LIV Golf when the reigning NCAA individual champion made the decision to forego his final semester of college golf at Ole Miss to turn pro and join Phil Mickelson's HyFlyers team for the 2026 season.
"One of the things that went into my decision, when I was 10 years old starting to play golf, like, the goal for me was to play professional golf," La Sasso said at the time. "Having people that have been very well-known in the golf space and are so experienced, and to be able to be a part of a team that's with Phil, somebody that's had so much experience, I feel like he'll be able to answer any question that I throw at him, to have the ability to be able to ask somebody that on a daily basis, that played a very big part in it for me because not every 21-year-old has the opportunity to be able to ask questions to those people. So that was a big factor for me.
"I think so far, I'm so grateful that I made the decision, and I am very happy to be here."
He'll be among the group at Seddiner See Golf and Country Club in Michendorf, Germany, next week.
Peter Uihlein (DQ'd after two rounds)
Peter Uihlein celebrated his 37th birthday last week, but the former PGA Tour vet and current LIV Golf member knows he might not have a home next year if the latter can't come up with funding for a scaled-down version of the circuit.
So Uihlein, who officially won $4.13 million during his lengthy run on the PGA Tour and added $37.6 million during his short time with LIV, was attempting to qualify for the DP World Tour this week at Huddersfield Golf Club.
He opened with rounds of 74 and 73 and was tied for 66th heading into the third round at 7-over-par on Friday when he didn't show up for his tee time. He was subsequently disqualified from the event. Only the top 19 players with ties advance to the next stage.
Josele Ballester (1 over after 2 rounds)
The 23-year-old Arizona State product won the 2024 U.S. Amateur and he's currently a member of Sergio Garcia's Fireballs GC. Ballester has a professional win (the 2025 PIF Saudi International), but he has yet to capture a LIV Golf title, although he did lose in a playoff at LIV Golf Chicago.
In the Huddersfield event, Ballester opened with a 67, but he fell well back in the pack with a 74 during the second round of play. At 1 over, he'll need to make up a few shots as the current cut line is 2 under to qualify for the next round.
Luis Masaveu (2 under after 2 rounds)
Spanish 23-year-old Masaveu came to LIV Golf from the Challenge Tour by way of UCLA and is also a member of Garcia's Fireballs GC side. He finished 48th on the LIV Golf money list in 2026, earning $1.58 million in a dozen events.
After two rounds of play at Huddersfield, he's right on the cut line for reaching the next stage of qualifying. With rounds of 68 and 70 he came into the third round at 2 under, which would place him 14th.
Yosuke Asaji (starts qualifying on Sept. 8)
Asaji joined LIV Golf in 2026 through the International Series, by winning the Singapore Open in 2025. He has also secured victories on multiple Asian tours. Asaji finished 44th on the money list in 2026 with $1.793 million in earnings.
