Warren’s Week 1 comes at home against Atlanta, and PFN’s rankings slot him 25th among running backs. I have him ahead of Rico Dowdle for the season, and his pass-catching role is the reason. Not this week, though: with Pittsburgh favored, I’m penciling in a 3:2 touch edge in favor of Dowdle.

I have Warren ranked ahead of Rico Dowdle for the season, but not this week. During his first three seasons, more than 28% of his touches came via the reception, a role that I think more closely mirrors what he is asked to do in 2026 than he was last season with Kenny Gainwell in town.
With 40 catches on 45 targets in 2025, I think we can say with confidence that Warren has earned the trust of the finicky Aaron Rodgers. That holds tremendous value in certain spots (next week in Foxboro for example) and less in others. With Pittsburgh favored this weekend, I’m penciling in something like a 3:2 touch edge in favor of Dowdle and thus ranking him as the preferred flex if you’re considering a back in Pittsburgh.
