Freiburg dropped their first points of the season in a 2-2 Bundesliga draw at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday while SV Hamburg earned their first goals and points in a 2-1 victory over Cologne.
Freiburg had won their first three league matches and their other three as well in the German Cup and Conference League.

They also dominated in Frankfurt but the hosts were efficient and led from Younes Ebnoutalib's tap-in off Ritsu Doan in the 10th and again from Jonathan Burkardt in a 36th-minute goalmouth scramble.
Derry Scherhant levelled in the 34th into the bottom corner, hit the post with a free-kick and set up Yuito Suzuki to volley in for 2-2 in the 48th. Lukas Höler missed a possible late Freiburg winner when his diving header went wide.
Ebnoutalib and Scherhant are among several players called up into the German national team squad for the first time by new coach Jürgen Klopp, with Burkardt also part of the group.
"I feel very good and it (the nomination) gave an extra push. We had chances to win the match but at the end of the day we have a point, although three would have been better," Scherhant told Sky TV.
Freiburg remain unbeaten
Freiburg are second, behind Bayern Munich on goal difference after the champions routed Union Berlin 7-0 on Friday.
Borussia Dortmund can go top later Saturday with victory at VfB Stuttgart.
Hamburg end rot
In the lowlands, Hamburg left last place following three defeats and a goal-difference of 0-12 with the victory over Cologne. The visitors were the better team but Hamburg won from Nicolás Capaldo's header in the 44th and substitute Yussuf Poulsen shortly after the restart. Ragnar Ache scored for Cologne in stoppage time.
"After those three defeats the lads really did well, especially in the second half," Poulsen said.
Ailing Gladbach
Borussia Mönchengladbach, under caretaker coach Jan-Moritz Lichte, remain on zero points when they lost 4-3 at home against Mainz.
The hosts led from Florian Neuhaus, Mainz reversed matters before the half from Phillip Tietz and Sheraldo Becker, Isac Lidberg made it 2-2 but Eric Martel's header in the 78th and Danny Da Costa late on won it for Mainz. Shuto Machino converted a late penalty for Gladbach, whose Kevin Diks had missed from the spot earlier.
Bremen fightback
Mitchell Weiser smashed a stunning and emotional winner in stoppage time of his first home game in more than a year due to a severe knee injury as Werder Bremen rallied from two down to beat Augsburg 3-2.
Augsburg led from Robin Fellhauer and Calvin Brackelmann before Marco Grüll and Niclas Füllkrug hauled Bremen level to set up the dramatic finale.
The Sunday games are Bayer Leverkusen v RB Leipzig, Schalke v Elversberg and Hoffenheim v Paderborn. They are followed by a three-week international break before the Bundesliga resumes on October 9.
