With the outcome already slipping away, Green Bay could have given Jordan Love the rest of the night and turned to a backup quarterback. Instead, Matt LaFleur continued to rely on his starter throughout Thursday’s matchup with Atlanta. Love remained under center until the clock expired as the Packers suffered an embarrassing 35-14 defeat against the Falcons at Lambeau Field.

LaFleur’s decision to keep Love on the field drew criticism as Green Bay’s offensive line continued to struggle and the game moved further beyond reach. Afterward, ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky posted LaFleur’s explanation on X (formerly Twitter), with the Packers coach saying he was “just trying to get something going … just trying to play your way out of it” while the team attempted to find any momentum during a frustrating night at Lambeau Field.
Jordan Love and the Packers’ struggles against the Falcons

Despite the widening gap, the Packers kept their starting quarterback on the field, and he ended the night 28 of 53 passing for 312 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
The Falcons dictated the action at the point of attack and consistently won the physical battle against Green Bay. Michael Penix Jr. completed the night with 256 passing yards and one touchdown, while Drake London became a major part of Atlanta’s passing attack with nine receptions for 194 yards.
