Oregon's Dan Lanning jabs USC after Ducks extend dominance

It didn't take the Oregon football team and coach Dan Lanning long after their 41-27 win to fire back at USC after a long summer of social media posts and smack talk aimed specifically at the Ducks.

Lanning, Oregon's fifth-year coach who held his tongue over the spring when the Trojans' social media team posted several pieces of content meant to troll the Ducks, did not do so Sept. 26 after his third win in as many tries against USC.

"Three wins against these guys," Lanning said. "I guess if you're interested in winning football games and you're from this area, you should come to Oregon. If you want to go to a Chris Brown concert, you should go here."

Lanning made sure to give credit to the Trojans and coach Lincoln Riley for a hard-fought game, and several of Oregon's players postgame echoed the sentiment.

But Lanning also couldn't help but comment on USC's crowd, which came under fire after porous attendance through the first few weeks of its home season. Saturday night was a sellout, with over 75,000 fans in attendance to watch the ranked showdown.

"I've watched three of their games here and it hasn't been packed yet," Lanning said. "But we were here tonight, and it was packed tonight. I guess when the Ducks show up, that's how you fill up the Coliseum."

The smack talk wasn't reserved to just Lanning, as several players were caught on video postgame claiming Oregon was the best program on the West Coast.

In direct response to a USC post referring to a flipped recruit over the summer and someone painting over green grass with red paint and the caption, "Guess the grass wasn't greener," Oregon's social media team posted a video of the red-painted grass zooming out to reveal a massive "L," then the words: "There's always a bigger picture."

Oregon's win means the Trojans will have gone a decade without beating the Ducks, who have won five straight against USC.
