The 2026 Western North Carolina high school fall sports season is entering its third month, October.
Before looking ahead, it's time to vote for September's AdventHealth Western North Carolina girls Team of the Month.
Vote for the WNC girls team that had the best performance this month. This poll closes on Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.
Brevard flag football: Brevard has put together an undefeated 4-0 start to its inaugural flag football season, securing wins over North Buncombe, Erwin, Smoky Mountain and West Henderson.
Cherokee volleyball: The Braves are 21-7 so far this season. They have picked up wins over Asheville High and Roberson in September.
Franklin volleyball: Setter Bristol Brooks has guided the Panthers to a perfect season so far at 21-0. She has recorded 653 assists, which is the best mark in North Carolina.
Owen volleyball: The Warhorses went 9-1 in September, with their lone loss coming to Asheville Christian Academy in five sets. They beat Polk County and Hendersonville.
Reynolds volleyball: The Rockets have compiled a 10-2 record in September and have picked up wins over Asheville High and Roberson this month.
Smoky Mountain volleyball: The Mustangs have gotten off to a 13-4 start this season. Macy Craft leads the team, averaging 3.5 kills per set.
West Henderson flag football: Wide receiver Sawyer Manuel has caught nine passes for 110 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Falcons to a 6-1 start.
West Henderson volleyball: The Falcons have gone 16-2 in September so far. Their lone losses came to Franklin, 3-2, on Sept. 10 and Hickory, 2-1, on Sept. 26.
