Brooks Koepka takes club out of his bag for the first time in nine years at Dunhill Links Championship
· Yahoo Sports
Brooks Koepka is desperately searching for answers in 2026.
The five-time major winner is a shadow of his former self at 36. Koepka missed the FedEx Cup playoffs entirely on his return to the PGA Tour this year, in a season that he called “embarrassing”.

Many hoped that when Koepka left LIV he’d rediscover his form, and while there have been signs of encouragement throughout the year, Koepka hasn’t been able to put all aspects of his game together and compete for a win.
His putter has been largely to blame; however, Koepka is now trialling new clubs down his bag in the hope they can turn his performances around.
Brooks Koepka puts new club in his bag inspired by Tommy Fleetwood
Over the last nine years, when Koepka has had the majority of his success at major championships, he’s been loyal to his TaylorMade M2 Tour 3 wood. He’s used the club to tremendous effect for nearly a decade, but it looks like he’s now ready to move on.
Koepka is playing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this week, and there he was spotted playing with a R7 Quad Mini Driver instead of his 3-wood.
The mini driver is a club Tommy Fleetwood has popularised over the last few years. He uses a TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver both off the tee and off the deck to great effect. Fleetwood has the club in his bag in place of a 3-wood, giving him higher launch and better control from the range.
Many players have followed suit, including Akshay Bhatia, Min Woo Lee and Fleetwood’s Ryder Cup teammate Justin Rose. Now Koepka becomes the latest to add a mini driver to his bag in place of his 3-wood.
Koepka’s main issue has been with his putting, but it will be interesting to keep an eye on his numbers off the tee with a mini driver in hand to see if it outperforms the 3-wood that helped him win five major championships.
