‘Welcome home’: NFL world reacts as Chiefs reportedly ‘very interested’ in Tyreek Hill
· Yahoo Sports
Superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill is currently a free agent without a team after suffering a devastating knee injury during his final season with the Miami Dolphins. And it sounds like he could find a familiar home: the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hill spent six seasons in Kansas City as the top playmaker for Patrick Mahomes before he sought a trade to a team that would pay him more. Now, on the back end of his career, it sounds like he could find his way back to Kansas City.
Chiefs ‘Very Interested’ in Hill
Hill officially became a free agent in February when the Dolphins released him from his contract as he recovered from the knee injury he sustained in October of last year.
As he plans his comeback to the NFL, Michael Silver of The Athletic reports that the Chiefs would be “very interested” in a reunion with the speedster.
“Several high-ranking organizational sources confirmed Sunday night that they are very interested in signing free agent receiver Tyreek Hill, who starred in Kansas City from 2016 to ’21,” Silver wrote for The Athletic this week. “Hill suffered a gruesome knee injury almost exactly a year ago while playing for the Miami Dolphins and was released in February. He’s attempting to recover from a knee dislocation and multiple torn ligaments, including an ACL, and is believed to be targeting a November return.”
Silver reports that the Chiefs were already interested in a reunion, but the team is suddenly even more needy at the wide receiver position after injuries to Tyquan Thornton, who could miss the remainder of the season with a broken ankle, and Rashee Rice.
Hill himself seemed to address this speculation as he wrote simply “hm” in a post on X.
‘Welcome home’
Needless to say, this news led to a lot of reactions on social media.
“This man will never get tired of doing this,” wrote Seth Keysor of The Chiefs of the North.
“No idea how healthy he is but in some fantasy leagues you can cut a bench dude for Tyreek Hill right meow,” wrote Ian Hartitz of RotoWire.
“How many of yall stashed Tyreek Hill on your bench before today’s games?” wrote PPRFantasyTips in a post on X.
“Didn’t want it to be like this…but not sure it could come at a better time,” wrote Arrowhead Live in a post.
“Welcome home,” wrote Mark Gunnels of Fox Sports Radio.
“CHIEFS” wrote longtime NFL quarterback Chase Daniel.
Obviously, this would be quite a reunion. We’ll have to see whether or not it actually materializes.
