The Philadelphia 76ers have made decisions that they felt would benefit their team in the long run.
Dean Wade was signed to a four-year contract worth 39 million and is going to be a very important player for head coach Nick Nurse. Nurse has a knack for utilizing players like Wade, who can defend almost any position and still know how to contribute in the scoring column.

Even LeBron James notices just how good Wade is and what he can do for this team. James was asked about Wade and immediately showed his respect for the two-way role player. James was asked about Wade following their loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
”He could play for any team on the planet, and he’ll fit right in; you have to have guys like that on your team," said James to reporters.
James is absolutely right. Someone like Wade who can move without the ball and change positions in a pinch is extremely valuable. Wade finished perfect from the field and had seven points in 14 minutes. This is just one contributing factor that led to James making his comments. Wade will have a chance to play center considering the injuries have begun to pile up.
This is going to be something to look forward to when the 76ers gear up for a matchup against the Boston Celtics. The hope is Wade gets some more time to get acclimated to the position. What sets Wade apart from the rest is how effective he is on the defensive side. His size allows him to be a problem for the smaller forwards and yet be strong enough to hold his own against the centers in the league today. Wade has an innate ability to be a top on-ball defender when the moment requires it, and this team is going to need it more than ever.
His quick feet make him a nightmare for bigs, considering that not only can you not move him, but he’s too fast to get by and vice versa on the other end. When Wade played in Cleveland, his defense was what made other teams notice him. The only issue is that he was relegated to corner threes. In this offense he’ll be able to move around and be able to put the ball on the floor when necessary.
The preseason is nearing its end, and now you really have to buckle down and figure out how your rotation is going to be. Wade is a lock for the second unit, but he can show what this team is missing, an efficient three-point shooter.
