Emmanuel Acho has strong words for Eagles HC Nick Sirianni after London loss
· Yahoo Sports
Emmanuel Acho took up his old team on Sunday night’s episode of Speakeasy, his sports talk show on YouTube. The Philadelphia Eagles had lost 19-17 to the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London that morning, and the former Eagles linebacker put the result on one call by the head coach.
Jake Elliott’s 48-yard field goal had put Philadelphia up 17-16 with eight seconds left. Nick Sirianni then had Elliott kick the ball in play instead of through the end zone, Ameer Abdullah returned it 53 yards to the Eagles’ 39, and Cam Little hit a 57-yarder as time expired.

The hand Sirianni was dealt was a kickoff unit Jacksonville had already beaten. On the opening kickoff, Josh Cameron went the distance before the return was wiped out by offsetting penalties, and special teams regular Jeremiah Trotter Jr. was ejected on that same play.
Acho had pointed back to that sequence on X earlier in the day, writing, “Did Nick Sirianni forget what happened on the first D*mn play of the game!!!”
Eagles fans should be livid!!! Did Nick Sirianni forget what happened on the first D*mn play of the game!!!

What did the kickoff decision actually cost?
A kick through the end zone puts the ball at the Jacksonville 35, which would have left Little needing a 75-yard field goal. The return handed the Jaguars 26 extra yards and turned an impossible kick into a 57-yarder. Abdullah went down with one second left after officials put time back on the clock, just enough for one snap.
At his postgame news conference, Sirianni took the loss on himself without walking through his thinking.
“I didn’t make the right decision and I lost us that game,” Sirianni said. “That’s what I said to our guys. And what hurts there is that the guys fought so hard and I cost us that game. And I put that fully on me.”
He also allowed that the choice had not been simple in the moment.
“We want football to be as black and white as we possibly can, but there’s gray in it, right? There is gray in it,” Sirianni said.
Elliott was asked about the kick, he pointed reporters to his coach and said he followed instructions.
Philadelphia falls to 2-3 while Jacksonville moves to 4-1.
