Commanders vs. 49ers Friday injury report: Washington RB corps takes a big hit
· Yahoo Sports
Running back Bill Croskey-Merritt didn’t practice all week due to a groin injury and won’t be available to play the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. Head coach Dan Quinn ruled him out during his Friday press conference.

That’s a blow, considering Croskey Merritt got revved up with a strong performance in a Week 5 tie versus the New York Giants.
Quinn said that Croskey-Merritt re-injured the groin originally hurt in August, which makes recovery a bit tougher.
“That’s harder, on the same injury,” Quinn said. “We’ll work really hard to get him back.”
That issue’s compounded by the fact on-site reporters said fellow rushers Austin Ekeler (chest) and Rachaad White (shoulder) have been banged up.
On positive is that Jeremy McNichols was a full participant all week and should be ready to come off IR and play.
“Having a combination of guys,” Quinn said, “is what we’ll lean on right now.”
Quinn also told reporters that quarterback Marcus Mariota, edge rusher Javontae Jean-Baptiste and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu have been ruled out versus San Francisco and won’t make the trip to the Bay Area.
Washington is hoping for good news on Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin, who practiced on Friday and could play.
The full Commanders injury report will be released later on Friday afternoon. Check back with this story for full designations.
