Kansas City lost 28-24 to the Broncos after failing to score in the final quarter. From a costly third-down sack to Harrison Butker’s missed field goal, supporters found plenty of decisions they wanted their head coach to explain.
Chiefs Fans Question Andy Reid After Fourth-Quarter Collapse
One fan directed frustration at both Reid and the coverage surrounding him.
“Most coddled head coach ever. KC media is too scared to hurt his feelings,”the fan wrote.
Another delivered an equally blunt assessment of how Kansas City handled its advantage.
“Absolutely unbelievable horrendous coaching. This dude is so bad with a lead,”the supporter wrote.
The Chiefs entered the fourth quarter ahead 24-13. Denver cut the deficit to three when Bo Nix found Nate Adkins for a touchdown and connected with Jaylen Waddle on the two-point conversion.
Kansas City then had an opportunity to extend its lead. A sack pushed the Chiefs backward before Butker missed a 54-yard field goal, leaving Denver within striking distance.
“Just an absolutely brutal sequence for Andy Reid. Refuses to run on 3rd and less than 2, instead Patrick Mahomes takes a sack. Then you send out a broken kicker to try a long field goal,”one fan wrote.
The description of Butker reflected the supporter’s frustration. His struggles had already promptedcriticism of Reid’s continued support for the kicker before Sunday.
Denver needed just two plays after the miss to take the lead. Jonah Coleman’s five-yard touchdown run put the Broncos ahead with 1:56 remaining.

Lineup Decision Adds to Fans’ Frustration With Reid
Kansas City still had time to respond, but its final possession ended without the touchdown it needed. Fans also questioned the protection in front of Mahomes.
“Andy Reid benched his starting LG for unknown reasons again. Watch the backup LG on the final play of the game,”one supporter wrote.
The complaint concerned Kingsley Suamataia being benched for Week 8.
Travis Kelce said of Suamataia after the game, “Everybody has their own road. We love Kingsley, we think he’s a hell of a player. At this time, I’m not even sure what the scenario is. I’m rolling with whoever we’ve got in that game. I’m sure Kingsley is drooling, trying to get back out there.”

Other responses dispensed with individual plays entirely.
“That is an Andy Reid loss,”one fan wrote.
One account posted twice, first targeting Reid’s handling of leads.
“Andy Reid is and always will be a choker. Dude has a serious problem with blowing leads in the second half,”the account wrote.
“Thanks to Harrison Butker and Andy Reid, your Chiefs are currently a wildcard team after leading by 11 points in the 4th quarter,”it added.
The defeat dropped Kansas City to 5-2 as Denver improved to 6-2 and moved atop the AFC West.
Mahomes’ updatedPFN QB Impact ranking places him ninth with an 81.3 grade through seven appearances. Kansas City also finished Sunday with 399 yards to Denver’s 294, but committed 11 penalties for 105 yards.
The Chiefs produced enough offense to build a cushion. Their failure to turn it into a win left Reid answering for a fourth quarter that gave fans far more to complain about than celebrate.
