Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone gives his take on the PSG vs. Bayern Munich UCL spectacle

When Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain battled out a 5-4 match (PSG win), it was immediately hailed as one of the best, if not the best, Champions League match ever. The whole online footballing world was buzzing about the match before, during and after the match. It even elicited a response from Diego Simeone, coach of Atletico Madrid.

“When a game ends 5-4, everyone says: ‘What a great game!’ – I say: they scored 5 goals against us”, the Argentine said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “I don’t know if it’s such a good game for us coaches – but on TV, it was of course nice to watch.”

Simeone has coached more stressful matches before. Then again, he probably wishes he could watch that again because his Atletico team managed to draw 1-1 with Arsenal in the other semifinal of the Champions League. That match had people wishing for more action like they saw in Paris a few days ago.
