German cyclist Degenkolb extends deal aged 37

German cyclist John Degenkolb will continue his career for at least another season with Team Picnic-PostNL, the 37-year-old announced on Saturday.
"I will definitely still be out there as a cycling professional next year and will take on the 2027 season," Degenkolb told broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk (HR). His contract would have expired at the end of this year.

Degenkolb's biggest successes include victories at the cycling Monuments Milan-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix 11 years ago. In 2018 he also won a stage at the Tour de France.
He said he was excited "about what still awaits me in the time until the end of my career."
