Top-40 2027 prospect Xavier Sabb committed to Oregon football on Friday, July 3. The Ducks beat out Alabama — where his older brother, Keon Sabb, is a senior — among other schools for his services.
He wrapped up his official visits with a trip to Eugene, Oregon, on June 18. His official visit to his brother's school in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on June 9, did not swing the momentum fully toward the Crimson Tide.
Sabb ranks as the USA TODAY Composite's No. 40 overall player and the top-ranked athlete prospect in the class. Like his brother, Sabb attended Glassboro High School in Glassboro, New Jersey.
As a junior, Sabb was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in New Jersey. He led Glassboro to a 14-0 record and a second-straight Group 1 state championship. He finished the season with 59 catches for 897 yards and 13 touchdowns, while also adding 15 tackles and four interceptions on defense and two special teams touchdowns.
Sabb is also a standout basketball and track-and-field athlete for Glassboro.
Ducks continue early July hot streak
We're just three days into July and so far no team has been better on the recruiting trail for the month than Oregon.
Sabb's commitment gives the Ducks three commitments over the last three days from players ranked inside the top-100 for the USA Today Composite ranking. On Monday they landed commitments from four-star cornerback Hayden Stepp and four-star athlete Tae Walden.
Those commitments propelled Lanning's 2027 class into the top three behind Notre Dame and Texas A&M according to 247Sports. They now have 24 commitments in that class.
June was also a big month for the Ducks as they ended the month with nine new commitments. The biggest of those commitments was from five-star receiver Dakota Guerrant out of Michigan.
