Tracking Travis Hunter, Jaguars WR/CB continue playing well on defense
· Yahoo Sports
Judging Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter at both positions during the first six days of training camp might be a bit difficult, especially with only two days in pads and a small body of work.
But the fact remains that he's only given up a handful of catches in single coverage and most of the time quarterbacks have had to look elsewhere since Hunter has his man covered. And it looks effortless: Hunter isn't scrambling to find a receiver he lost and seems to be in the right place at the right time.

Hunter has two passes defensed and an interception on defense, not a lot of action given his number of defensive snaps. But it's not all about getting hands on the ball.
For example, on Aug. 4 at the Miller Electric Center:
During a period in which the offense ran plays from the 5-yard line, Hunter and the rest of the secondary forced a coverage sack on Trevor Lawrence when no one was open.
On another red-zone period, Lawrence was incomplete to Parker Washington, with Hunter covering. Not bad against the Jags' best receiver in camp.
Hunter made one catch on offense, his fifth of the preseason, taking a bubble screen pass from Nick Mullens, side-stepping a defender and breaking into the clear.
How many snaps did Travis Hunter have on Day 6 of Jaguars camp?
Hunter had seven offensive snaps and 10 defensive snaps, getting more defensive plays for the fifth time in six days.
For the season, Hunter has 35 plays on offense and 51 on defense in 11-on-11 periods, and five on offense and seven on defense in 7-on-7, for a total count of 40 offensive and 58 defensive.
The team has not had a 7-on-7 period since going into full pads on Aug. 3.
