The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot of depth heading into the new season. Of course, one can't call anything in the summer, but when looking at the roster, it appears the Sixers are a much better constructed roster at this point in the offseason.

One of those new pieces that will provide depth is Anfernee Simons. The 8-year guard from IMG Academy averaged 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 55 games split between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls in 2025-26, but has averaged 19.3 or more points three times in his career.

Following a three-season stretch that saw him average 20.7 points and 4.7 assists per game on 37.4 percent shooting from three, Anfernee Simons took more of a role player job with the Boston Celtics last season, prior to a mid-year trade to the Chicago Bulls. As such, Simons’ numbers took a hit, albeit understandably so considering his new role in Boston, and the transition period he had in Chicago.
Simons is a guy who can bring instant offense off the bench. Considering the Sixers are a team that has struggled with the bench unit in the past, his presence should give Philadelphia a big boost in that respect. His ability to score and handle the ball makes him a reliable piece for coach Nick Nurse to turn to and play next to Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe in the future.
