Tour Championship: Justin Rose erupts after sinking slam dunk hole-in-one in final round at East Lake

Justin Rose’s celebration on the ninth tee box at East Lake on Sunday afternoon was well deserved.

Rose played the par-3 perfectly in the final round of the Tour Championship. From 208 yards out with a 6-iron in hand, Rose absolutely sank his tee shot for a wild slam dunk ace.

Rose looked just as stunned as everyone right after the ball hit the cup, and just stood there with both hands up in the air for several seconds before pointing down in a celebration that fit the moment perfectly.

It marked the fourth career hole-in-one of Rose’s PGA Tour career, and the first on that hole since Xander Schauffele hit one during the third round of the 2019 Tour Championship. 

While that will almost certainly go down as the shot of the day, Rose was still well out of contention to claim the FedExCup trophy. Rose was 2-over on his final round before the ace brought him back to even at the turn, which had him at 8-under on the week. That was well back of leaders Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland, who had climbed to 14-under. 

But still, Rose is ending his PGA Tour season with a hole-in-one. It doesn’t get much better than that.
