The Los Angeles Chargers have begun the 2026 NFL season with a 0-3 record. Things are really not going right for this team, especially on offense.

While it's been a rough start and their schedule isn't getting any easier, there is still time to turn things around and avoid a complete disaster of a 2026 season.

However, if things continue to go wrong and the Chargers' fall continues, then ESPN's Dan Graziano believes beloved edge rusher Khalil Mack could be traded this Fall by the NFL trade deadline.

Chargers could trade Khalil Mack if they can't turn their season around

"But if they don't turn it around, and if they think they've slipping out of contention come early November, Mack could be appealing to a contender team looking to improve its pass rush for the stretch run," Graziano writes.

If the Chargers are out of contention by the trade deadline in early November, which is very possible with a difficult early-season schedule, the Chargers could be looking at a few trades from the NFL roster to acquire draft capital and young players.

It doesn't have to be a full-scale rebuild, but moving some pieces around to try and reset for a year isn't a bad idea if this 2026 season continues to unravel as it has so far.

Mack would be someone the Chargers could look to trade in such a scenario. While they might not want to move on from the potential future Hall of Famer who just reached 115 sacks in his NFL career this season, his trade would make a lot of sense.

He's only signed for one season, and an acquiring team wouldn't have to spend a ton to get him. A 2027 mid-round pick might be all it takes to land Mack, a half-season veteran rental at the edge rusher position.

There are bound to be teams interested in adding Mack, especially since edge rushers are typically in high demand come the trade deadline.

The Chicago Bears or Las Vegas Raiders are legitimate options, although the Chargers likely wouldn't deal Mack to an AFC West divisional foe.

But regardless of whether it's the Bears, Raiders, or one of the many other likely interested teams, Graziano believes there's a chance Mack is on the move this Fall in the scenario where the Chargers collapse and fall out of contention.
