A big decision was announced on Thursday evening as Goodyear (Ariz.) Desert Edge four-star EDGE Jalanie George committed to Wisconsin. The Badgers were able to beat out Washington, Auburn and Miami.
George, likely a five-star when the rankings expand, is currently the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 6 EDGE in the cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.

With George off the board, 17 of the top-100 prospects in the cycle are already committed, despite National Signing Day for the 2028 class being well over a year away. That number will continue to increase throughout this fall, too.
A majority of the big early junior commitments have come via quarterbacks. George and new Florida four-star offensive tackle pledge Samuel Bailey are the two latest commitments that carry some real weight. Rivals looks at the 10 highest-ranked prospects in the 2028 cycle who are already committed, as of Oct. 1.
QB Jayden Wade — Georgia
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 5 NATL. (No. 1 QB)
School:IMG Academy (Fla.)
Committed Since: Nov. 16, 2025
Scouting Summary: “Physically-gifted quarterback prospect with a high-end combination of arm strength and athleticism. Measured in at around 6-foot-3.5, 195 pounds with 10-inch hands prior to his junior season, having added good mass to his frame over the past year. A combine standout who has been timed in the 4.4-second range in the 40-yard dash. Started at quarterback at power IMG Academy as a sophomore after serving as a backup as a freshman. Has a tight, quick throwing motion and shows the ability to throw with palpable velocity.
…Primarily worked as a distributor for IMG’s talented receiving corps, throwing a high percentage of RPO’s as a sophomore. Completed 73 of 119 passes for 1,376 yards and 20 touchdowns against two interceptions as a sophomore. Shows flashes of his immense physical ability but needs more quality in-game reps as a passer, as he’s relatively less experienced than most of his highly-ranked peers at this stage. Older for the cycle and will turn 18 years-old in October of his junior season.” — Charles Power, Rivals Director of Scouting and Rankings
WR Jett Harrison — Ohio State
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 7 NATL. (No. 2 WR)
School:St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.)
Committed Since: July 1
Scouting Summary: “Dominant wide receiver prospect with an elite combination of ball skills and route-running ability as an underclassman prospect. Added size and is listed around 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Sets the pace in what looks to be a very strong wide receiver cycle nationally in 2028. Has a large catch radius, coming down with ridiculous catches on a regular basis. High-points and tracks the football at a high level.
…A polished route-runner with the ability to separate with his change of direction. Exploded as a sophomore, hauling in 15 touchdown passes, including a four touchdown outing against national power St. Frances Academy. Comes from an NFL lineage, with his father Marvin Harrison Sr. being a NFL Hall-of-Famer and his older brother Marvin Harrison Jr. being a top five pick.” — Power
QB Christopher Vargas — Ohio State
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 8 NATL. (No. 2 QB)
School:St. John’s Prep (Mass.)
Committed Since: Aug. 8
Scouting Summary: “Gifted arm talent who looks like one of the purest passers early on in the 2028 cycle. Measured in at around 6-foot-4, 175 pounds with 9.5-inch hands prior to his sophomore season. Has a loose, live arm. Able to generate easy velocity while locating his passes into small windows with accuracy and touch. Musters RPM’s on his passes despite his lack of mass at this stage. Shows encouraging signs of passing nuance early.
…Helped his team to a state title appearance as a sophomore, completing 138 of 207 passes (66.7%) for 2,038 yards and 24 touchdowns against 3 interceptions. Primarily plays as a dropback passer at the high school level. A solid mover, but will benefit from more playmaking opportunities. A bit older for the cycle, and will turn 18 in April before his senior season.” — Power
EDGE Darieon Prescott — Notre Dame
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 17 NATL. (No. 4 EDGE)
School:Bolingbrook (Ill.)
Committed Since: July 27
Prescott on his commitment: “What made Notre Dame right for me was their culture,” he told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “I truly love their environment and play style. Their coaching staff is amazing and it shows off in their playmaking ability.”
“Something my coach always told me and my team to do is set the standard and as me committing early in setting the standard for my fellow 2028 class not trying to pressure but just show if it feels right and you follow your heart you should take that leap.”
EDGE Jalanie George — Wisconsin
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 23 NATL. (No. 6 EDGE)
School:Desert Edge (Ariz.)
Committed Since: Oct. 1
Scouting Summary: “Big EDGE prospect who is the highest-rated prospect at the position early on in the 2028 cycle. Listed at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds with a frame that should pack on. more weight. Shows advanced play speed, tracking down ball carriers in backside pursuit. The combination of size and burst off the edge sticks out. Collected 16 tackles-for-loss and 6.5 sacks during his sophomore season. Has positional versatility and upside along the defensive front.” — Power
QB Donald Tabron II — Texas A&M
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 26 NATL. (No. 3 QB)
School:Cass Tech (Mich.)
Committed Since: Aug. 15
Scouting Summary: “When you talk about him as a passer, he has two things that really stick out. The way he stands in the pocket is really calm. He has great demeanor, he always plays under control in the pocket. He rarely looks phased when he’s in the pocket. Even with blitzers and pass rushers coming at him, he slides very comfortably. He navigates the pocket, he throws his passes very on time and in rhythm, and he’s very poised. The second thing I would say is his ability to throw with touch.
…He does an amazing job of not only layering the ball over the middle of the field. He’s able to throw those layered balls, those touch passes over linebackers in the intermediate level of the game. But he loves putting air underneath the ball on deep throws, passes to the boundary… He puts it to where his receiver is the only one that can make a play.” — Cody Bellaire, Rivals National Scout
DL Jameer Whyce — Ohio State
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 27 NATL. (No. 5 DL)
School:Trotwood-Madison (Ohio)
Committed Since: Oct. 16, 2025
Whyce on his commitment: “They are one of the best in the world at developing,” Whyce told Rivals. “I feel as if it is like it really is with any defensive line recruit that he has offered,” he said of his relationship with Larry Johnson. “We will get a chance to really improve our relationship when I get older and get on campus.”
OT Samuel Bailey — Florida
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 36 NATL. (No. 4 OT)
School:Jemison (Ala.)
Committed Since: Sept. 28
Bailey on his commitment: “My connection with the staff, the direction the program is heading, and how high the program is shooting is why I chose Florida,” Bailey told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “I really believe in what Coach Jon Sumrall is building at Florida.”
“The visit was huge for me,” he said. “Seeing them beat a top 5 team like Ole Miss and dominate the way they did showed me that this is where I need to be. The environment and energy made a big impact on me.”
OT Austin Attalah — Texas Tech
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 37 NATL. (No. 5 OT)
School:Orange Lutheran (Calif.)
Committed Since: Aug. 25
Attalah on his commitment: “I wasn’t really planning to commit this early,” he told Rivals Greg Biggins. “Ever since Texas Tech got involved and I took my visit, I just knew that’s where I wanted to be. This wasn’t a spur of the moment of the decision, I’ve been feeling this way for at least the last two months.”
“I was getting tired of the recruiting process, and Texas Tech had everything I wanted. I’ve always loved the state of Texas, and I have a lot of family there. My mom and I go back every summer, and I have family not far from Lubbock, so there’s already a strong support system in place.”
IOL Kweli Fielder — Miami
Rivals Industry Rankings: No. 52 NATL. (No. 4 IOL)
School:Carrollton (Ga.)
Committed Since: June 24
Fielder on his commitment: “Miami felt like home since going down twice in June. It was a special moment for my mom and I. The relationships I built with the coaches, the culture and the vision they have for me made it the right choice,” he told Rivals. “I believe Miami gives me the best opportunity to develop as a player and person while competing at the highest level.”
