Birch takes over leadership of the athletic department after succeeding Brian Young. In his new role, he will oversee all Claremore athletic programs, coaches and facilities while helping guide the future of Zebra Athletics.
Birch brings a background in coaching, education and program development, with an emphasis on culture, leadership and relationship-building.
His arrival comes at a time when Claremore athletics is enjoying success across multiple sports, including Class 5A state championships in boys golf and girls track and field in 2025 in addition to continued prominence in football, volleyball, softball, cross country and wrestling.
Meanwhile, one of Claremore's most successful programs will have a familiar face at the helm.
Jahn was promoted from assistant coach to head coach of the wrestling program after helping guide the Zebras through one of the strongest stretches in program history under Chad Willard.
During his time as an assistant, Claremore produced seven individual state champions and 39 state placers while earning multiple top finishes at dual state and the state tournament.
The promotion marks Jahn's second stint as a head coach at Claremore. He previously served as the Lady Zebras' girls soccer coach before turning his full attention to wrestling after the 2022 season.
